The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club is a new boutique hotel adjacent to the Fitzsimmons Innovation Community at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The hotel officially opened in May 2023 and was expressly designed to accommodate the needs of the hospitals and the University by offering luxury guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, spacious light-filled meeting facilities, and an elegant ballroom and Rose garden for large social functions.

The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club salutes the Spirit of the West – a land where business leaders, global thinkers, teachers and students, writers and artists, pioneers and inventors embrace innovation. This same spirit can be found in the art collection we commissioned and curated with William Matthews Studio. Our curatorial approach and vision for this project created a collection that tells the story of our place in the west encompassing our environment from the sky above us to the dirt under our feet. It’s about the morning, the evening, and the seasons with specific areas of the hotel dedicated to these ideas. This expansive art collection contains works by 32 artists, the vast majority of whom are based in Colorado. These works represent a variety of mediums including paintings, photography, sculpture, prints, drawings, and a large-scale ceiling mural.
